Heaven and Hell

Heaven plays a key role in CELETERRA. What happens to us after death? Judeo-Christian writers have proposed a variety of concepts, all based on their beliefs and on their interpretations of the Bible:

• The Roman Catholic Church bases its belief on Heaven, Hell and Purgatory on main biblical passages in the Old and New Testaments.
• Protestant denominations base their beliefs on the literal interpretation of individual passages of the Bible, and interpretations of others. They arrive at different beliefs from the Roman Catholics because they select different passages.
• Liberal Christians believe the Bible evolved greatly over the millennia during which it was written. Therefore, there is little consistency in the Bible about the afterlife. Many liberals are undecided about the existence of any form of afterlife.
• Humanists, Atheists and Agnostics are skeptical about the existence of an afterlife.

Many people need a sense of security in this uncertain world as well as concerning their personal death.
